Donate to Keep Lanare's Community Center Open!

Lanare is a small unincorporated, primarily farm worker community located in Fresno County.  The community has a severe lack of infrastructure including a lack of clean drinking water (the community's water is contaminated with arsenic), sewer systems, sidewalks, street lights, drainage and well paved roads.    The community's only meeting place and park is in danger of closing because the community cannot afford to keep them open.  This is the only public meeting space in town and serves as an emergency center.

Community United in Lanare is a community group of concerned Lanare residents dedicated to improving conditions in their community and to provide a much needed voice to the residents of Lanare.  In an effort to keep their community center open-the group is hosting a dinner/dance fundraiser event on March 26th,2011  from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the Lanare Community Center.  The dinner includes a full meal and drink (non alcoholic of course) and music entertainment.  The are selling tickets in advance and the cost is as follows : 1 person is $7.50 and it is $14.00 for a couple.  Even if you can't attend please consider making a donation.  Donations can be made via Paypal here:
